September Newsletter

Here We Go!!!
Dear Parents and Dancers,
We hope you all had a great summer and are ready to start another exciting year at Dance Unlimited. To those of you who are with us for the first time, Welcome! We are committed to providing all of our dancers with the most complete dance education possible, and we appreciate your decision to become part of our program.
Each month we will be supplying dancers with a newsletter to keep parents and dancers informed. As we told you in our registration package, we will be sending home envelopes with your dancers each month (one per family). These will have your account information posted on the front (this will replace receipts being handed out), and newsletters, notes, reminders, etc. inside them. Please fill in or correct any necessary information on the front of your envelope. You will place your monthly fee in the envelope and have your dancer return them. (You may also mail in your payment if you wish.). We encourage each dancer to have a “dance bag” to carry these back and forth, as well as to keep their shoes and other necessities. Please remember that if you have dancers in both of our studios in Rigby and Rexburg, to look for information that is “studio specific”. We will also be posting a copy of each month’s newsletter on the bulletin board for your reference, and posting messages on our bulletin and marker boards. Additional copies will be available in the file holder at the door.
In our registration packet we included information addressing “General Class Rules”, and “Dance Class Fees”. We also included a broad list of important dates to be aware of. Please look over these sheets and let us know if you have any questions. We have additional copies of these papers as well as our “Release” and “Registration” information sheet if you need any of these.

Here are a few reminders of upcoming dates to be aware of:
-If you missed the shoe order on Aug. 28th please make arrangements with Krista, or your dancer’s teacher, to get your student measured. Also be aware if anyone wishes to bring in dance shoes to sell or trade, please do so as soon as possible. You will be responsible to secure your name, phone #, and amount on your shoes, and contact each other to make arrangements.
-Please look at our display rack in the studio. We are very excited to offer “Dance Unlimited” tee shirts, dance bags, sandals, leotards, dance pants, etc. T-shirt order forms are attached to this letter and prices of the other items are posted with them. We will take orders for t-shirts until Sept. 17th. You can also pick up an order form for our Dance Unlimited warm-up jackets from one of the Teachers or from Krista. We will be placing this order the first part of October.
We also need to remind you of a few things that will help our classes run more smoothly:
-Please have your dancer use the restroom before class begins.
-Please be prompt in dropping off and picking up your dancer. Classes are 85 or 55 minuets in length, 45 minutes for Pre-Dance, to allow for transitions between classes.
-Our dress policy will be strictly enforced. Please refer to “General Class Rules” for information on this.
-If you dancer has a particular health risk, (i.e. asthma etc.) please make sure that we are aware of this and that we have an emergency contact for every student.
-Monthly fees are due by the 15th of each month. After the 15th of the month a $5 late fee will be assessed. If unexpected circumstances arise please contact me so that I can help you avoid a late fee. If you have students in both studios you will need to make separate payments. This will be much easier to keep track of for everyone. If you need to pay cash, please place the money in a separate envelope with the students name and the amount enclosed.

Finally, we appreciate the passion that you share with us for dance. We feel that it is crucial to instill all of our dancers with the proper technique and training that they need to have a positive experience in dance. We take our responsibility very seriously, and spend a great deal of time preparing for each and every class. We also know that class needs to be something that is fun for young dancers, while still being a controlled environment. You as parents can help your dancers by having them practice at home, just as you would with any other lesson. Encourage them to show you what we are working on, and when we begin learning our recital pieces you will be notified to bring a tape or CD for them to have a copy of their music on so that they can practice their numbers at home. We will also welcome you to video tape their dances once they have learned them, or if you think they need help with a particular area, so that they have them on hand. Their confidence and self-esteem is very important to us.
We encourage you to follow our blog at danceunlimitedrigby.blogspot.com or become a fan on our Dance Unlimited Rigby Facebook page. We will be posting information and updates on each of these sites. Our door is always open for questions or comments so don’t hesitate to contact us. This is going to be a great year!!
